Role of Bio-Incubator in Healthcare industry & Uniqueness of BBB
Bio-incubation allows harnessing of the entrepreneurial potential of startups by providing access to infrastructure as well as mentoring and networking platforms that the start-ups could use during their fledgling days. Bio-Incubator is the establishment that provides necessary infrastructure and incubation facilities to young startups related with Biotechnology or Biology domain. Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) has developed and supported 51 Bio-incubators throughout the nation under BioNEST ( Bioincubators Nurturing Entrepreneurship for Scaling Technologies) scheme. BioNEST was launched by BIRAC with a vision to foster the biotech innovation ecosystem in the country. Bio-incubators offer a wide range of solutions to startups such as incubation space, high end instrumentation, scientific and business mentoring and last but not the least, access to networks and communities which are essential for a nascent biotech startup to grow.
